In 1995 the government of Mozambique offered Heidi and Rolland Baker a horribly dilapidated and neglected orphanage along with the eighty children it then housed. With hearts already broken for the poor and unwanted, they jumped at the opportunity.  Following years of brutal civil war the need was great and the original group of eighty orphans quickly grew to 320. Today, operating from their center in Pemba, Mozambique, Iris Ministries provides food, clothing, and schooling for over 2,000 children every day.  Orphaned, displaced, and abandoned, these children are among the poorest of the world’s poor.  But to the Bakers, these are their children and they love each one as their own.  At IGNITESTORE.COM we are well acquainted with Heidi and Rolland and the work they do in Mozambique and beyond.  The need is great and their love for the children is genuine.  We consider it a privilege to support them.  To learn more about Rolland and Heidi Baker and the work of Iris Ministries, go to www.irismin.org/p/home.php .
